The new Mega 2560 (rev3) comes with more program memory, more RAM and more pins. 100% compatible with the UNO or Duemilanove version.

In this novel version, it uses a powerful ATMEGA2560 AVR processor with ample memory space for programming and running at 16Mhz. It is ideal for robotics projects as the highlight is its high number of input and output pins and its 4 hardware UART ports.

The Shield boards of the Duemilanove / UNO version are still compatible with this model as the basic pins are located in the same place, so we can still use any shield board of the Duemilanove model. The only difference is that the Mega board is slightly longer, so we can access a new row of pins with the additional IO pins
